Met Office 5 day weather forecast

The Met Office weather forecast will give an indication of likely upcoming weather conditions. Please note that rainfall can be quite localised and due to the large catchment of Dan Yr Ogof you will need to take into account local water levels and recent rainfall.   Met Office Weather Widget

River Tawe water levels

Natural Resources Wales (NRW) provide a graph of the water level of the River Tawe at Craig y Nos just downstream of its confluence with the Llynfell (the river that resurges from Dan yr Ogof).

DYO Conservation Advisory Panel

Scheduled as a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), Dan Yr Ogof is afforded a special level of protection under the Wildlife & Countryside Act (1981). The Dan Yr Ogof Conservation Advisory Panel works with the showcave management team to administer the wild cave that lies beyond the showcaves. Conservation of this unique cave is the primary aim of the panel. Exploration and access to the cave is controlled by the panel working with a team of conservation wardens who accompany the caving trips beyond the showcave.
