Gerard Platten Journal

DYOCAC wish to thank the British Caving Library for permission to use the digital copy made by Allan Richardson, of the Gerard Platten journal which details some of the early explorations in DYO.

This material is part of the British Caving Library collection. The normal library material, which comes from all round the world, is available to the public at two centres in the Derbyshire Peak District. Details of the centres and information for contacting the librarian, are given on the library website: www.caving-library.org.uk . This site also has the library catalogue and an entertaining Audio Archive, full of good tales from old cavers.

The older record books containing maps drawings and original photographs, are unique and are shortly to be transferred to safe storage at the British Geological Survey (BGS) in Keyworth, Nottingham. In time digitised images from these record books will be made available on the BGS website: www.bgs.ac.uk
